rade Show 2018
Saturday, March 17, 2018 - 7:00pm
The Richland Academy dancers will be performing on Saturday, March 17 2018 at 7:00 pm at Founder’s Auditorium located at the Mansfield branch of OSU. Tickets are available for $15.00 Adults & $10.00 Students/Seniors/Veterans.
This year’s performance will feature our four companies; rade, rade jr., radkidz, and radkidz2 performing pieces in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Modern. Our top company includes dancers from around the community: Jenah Calderhead & Chloe Walker, Madison HS; Kylee Dettmer, Clear Fork HS; Gabriella Morando & Madeleine Weilbacker, Lexington HS; Rhapsody Howell, Mansfield Senior HS; Meiyan Timberlake, Ontario HS.
The show begins with 35 of our dancers on stage dancing to Vivaldi’s Concerto in D minor part 1, which has opened the show for the last eight years. You will see excerpts from some classical ballets including Paquita, and The Dying Swan as well as some Student Choreographed pieces. This show highlights our student’s talent and ability to dance many different techniques and styles, as well as the great creativity of the choreographers. Matthew Roberts, who is in his 2nd year teaching at the Richland Academy and is also a dancer with NEOS, will show off his choreographic style with the academy dancers in a jazz piece and a rockin’ tap dance. Sarah Horrigan-Ramos is shaking things up with our youngest and newest company members who will be dancing Sing, Sing, Sing from the Broadway Musical, Fosse. The senior level dancers will amaze you with their performance of Marden Ramos’ original choreography. Choreographic favorites like Fractures of Light and the crowd-pleasing Cinco Salsa which is danced to Beethoven’s famous 5th symphony with a salsa flare will have you dancing in your seats. Marden’s neo classical choreography pushes his dancers to perform at their highest ability. Whether a group piece, duet or solo; his choreography, which often reflects so much of his personal story, will send the audience on an emotional journey through music and movement. You don’t want to miss the premiere of two new pieces that Marden and the dancers have added to their repertoire. The students in this performance are the same dancers that brought the magic of The Nutcracker Ballet to life; even if you don’t know any of the students, you will be amazed at the young talent we have here in Mansfield. This will be a true celebration of dance that you will want to see!
