About the Richland Academy
DATES AND POLICIES

*FALL SEMESTER 2010/SPRING SEMESTER 2011: September 13 – May 21

*Beginning Fall 2010 we will be registering for 32 weeks for all classes and private lessons. The only exception is Creative Movement and Clay Class.

REGISTRATION, PAYMENT AND PAYMENT PLAN
Registration forms are available at Richland Academy. You may register by phone with a credit card payment. It is recommended that you register early, as class space is limited. Class and lesson times can only be held for students if the following is complete.

  • Previous semesters must be paid in full before a student may register.
  • The $12.00 individual/$22.00 family non-refundable registration fee is paid.
  • First payment or payment in full for tuition must be complete.
  • All applicable material fees are paid.
  • Richland Academy reserves the right to suspend or terminate instruction for any student whose conduct or behavior is unacceptable.

Payment Plan for Private Lessons, Music Classes, Early Arts, Theatre, and Visual Arts:
For your convenience, a no interest payment plan is available for the year. The payment plan allows tuition to be paid in 8 installments throughout the school year and 2 installments during Summer semester. A $20.00 non-refundable service fee will be assessed for using the plan during the school year, a $5.00 non-refundable service fee will be assessed for using the plan during Summer Semester.Payment may be made by cash, check, debit, Visa or MasterCard.

You may sign up for 4 weeks, one time only, as an introduction to private lessons, after which you must sign up for the remaining weeks.

Payment Plan for Creative Movement and Clay Class:
For your convenience, a no interest payment plan is available for these 16-week classes.

The payment allows tuition to be paid for in 4 installments for the 16- week class.

Payment must be made according to the schedule or a late charge of $10.00 per month will be added.

A $30.00 fee plus bank charges will be assessed for returned checks.

Failure to pay tuition will result in immediate cancellation.

WITHDRAWAL PROCESS
All withdrawals from classes and private lessons must be made through the front desk. Registration, payment plan and materials fees are non-refundable.

Refund by check or credit card will be sent approximately 30 days after the refund request. For Group Classes, Camps, Workshops and Intensives:

  No refunds will be given for classes after the second class is taken.

Students will continue to be charged until withdrawal is processed at front desk.

NOTE: all group classes are based on a minimum number of students. Should the class not reach the minimum number, RA reserves the right to cancel the class and students will receive a full refund for classes not held or transfer to another class.

For Private Instruction:

Students are required to pay for two lessons after the front desk has processed their withdrawal.

Students will continue to be charged until the withdrawal has been processed at the front desk.

MAKE - UP CLASSES AND LESSONS
Private Lessons: Students must notify the Academy if unable to attend a scheduled lesson before 10:00am if the lesson is after 12 noon or before 6:00pm if the lesson is the next morning. Call 419.522.8224 or toll-free 1.877.522.8224 to report absences. To make up an lesson a teacher may extend the length of the preceding or succeeding lessons or schedule another lesson at a mutually convenient time. If a student misses an appointed make-up time, the lesson will not be rescheduled. Classes: RA cannot make-up class lessons or refund tuition for classes missed by the student. Occasionally, an instructor may have an emergency and must miss a class/lesson. Should this occur, the instructor would make-up the class/lesson at an alternate time agreed upon by the instructor and the student.

RICHLAND ACADEMY CLOSING

In case of inclement weather:
Class cancellations will be determined before 8:00am for any classes occuring before 1:00pm. Cancellation for classes starting between 1:00 and 4:00pm will be determined by 12:00noon. A decision for evening classes will be made by 3:00pm that same day.
Exception - OSU/Mansfield classes held at Richland Academy will be held unless OSU/Mansfield cancels classes on campus.
An announcement will be placed on radio and TV.
All classes/lessons affected by a closing will be made-up.

PARKING
Parking is available in our small lot, in the Mansfield Municipal Parking Lot at Main and 4th Streets and on the street. After 5:30pm private lots are available with the exception of the lot directly across from RA on 4th Street. In all cases, please observe posted parking signs.
