A new partnership has been created between Pioneer Career & Technology Center, Richland Academy of the Arts, North Central State College, The Ohio State University at Mansfield, and
the North Central Ohio
College-Tech Prep Consortium to provide a very unique learning opportunity for students in the Pioneer Districts and the College Tech Prep Consortium totaling 30 high schools. This
exciting new program will allow students who aspire to an arts education beyond high school to be prepared for art forms that might not be available at their high schools. Students in
this Performing Arts Program will have the opportunity to pursue dance, music-non traditional, film, or theatre.
Classes will be held at the Richland Academy of the Arts. The program will have performing arts classes for approximately 2 1/2 hours in the morning and academic classes in the afternoon. Several options for taking academic classes will be available. This will ensure students meet all credits for graduation from their high school. Students will also be expected to participate in their high school performing arts programs. Possible career paths that students may explore upon graduation are: Actor - Film, Theatre and Musical Theatre Camera Operator Choreographer Costume Artist Dance Instructor Dance Performer Entertainment Management Film Editor Make-up Artist Music Performance Music Teacher Production Assistant Set Designer Sound and Light Board Designer And many more Specific curriculum for the Music Department will be added soon. |
