With instructor Megan Williams, students will explore The Journey of the Noble Gnarble (if class sizes allow). Students will learn the basics of theatre: working in an ensemble, moving on stage, singing, dancing, and creating as a group!

Act 1: Ages 4-6

Act 2: Ages 7-11

Combining the best of both worlds, students learn the basics of musical theatre. Develop cooperation, basic techniques, and self-confidence you’ll carry with you forever!

Under the instruction of Maria Getz Beery, this workshop gives students the unique opportunity to explore the basics of playwriting by creating compelling characters, interesting conflicts, and engaging dialogue. Classes consist of a variety of brainstorming and “writing on your feet” exercises to inspire creativity through storytelling. Each student completes a full one-act play by the end of the semester with the option of presenting it in a staged reading format.

Explore the exciting world of puppetry with new instructor Danielle Szymanski! In this 1-week camp, students will learn about puppetry by designing, building, and performing with their own puppets. Each student will design and build a unique Muppet-style hand puppet. After completing their puppets, students will create a new character and learn puppeteering techniques to bring their puppet to life. Students will then collaborate to write original skits and learn how to perform for film/television. Finally, the skits will be recorded and published online to be shared with family and friends.

Ages 8-12

Taught by Maria Getz Beery, this high energy class will get you thinking on your feet! Students will learn the basics of improvisation through a variety of games and exercises. They will create dialogue, characters and settings on the spot each week by using brainstorming and their creativity. The class will culminate in a showcase/improv show for parents and friends!

Learn the basics of theatre or work one-on-one with one of our professional acting instructors to further develop and expand your acting skills.

Students in this class will explore the basics of performance through movement, vocalization and creative expression. The class will focus on building confidence through activities such as improvisation, storytelling, and pantomime while also learning the ins and outs of play production and the rehearsal process. Through ensemble building work, participants will rehearse and perform a short youth theatre play that will be presented at the end of class.

Ages 10-17

Learn essential scenic painting techniques with new instructor Danielle Szymanski! In this 1-week camp, students will learn about the principles of scenic art and design for the theatre, color theory, and faux painting techniques which are commonly employed by scenic artists. Students will complete a color wheel project, as well as several unique works showcasing faux techniques. Finally, one technique will be attempted again, using a notable work of art to inspire the look. The students will take their work with them to share.

Ages 12+

Get rid of those audition jitters! This two week class will take the uncertainty out of the auditioning process! Students will hone their audition skills from learning how to select and perform a song to learning and performing a dance combo, choosing and preparing a short monologue, as well as cold reading from a script at an audition. Our final class will conclude with a “mock audition” in which we perform our pieces! You will be prepared and ready to go for the fall audition season after honing your skills and building your auditioning confidence!
