Learning to create and appreciate visual aesthetics may be more important than ever to the development of children as they grow up. When kids are encouraged to express themselves and take risks in creating art, they develop a sense of innovation that will be important in their adult lives. And for adults, the visual arts offer a great way to access your creativity and express yourself in important, life-enriching ways!
The visual arts are uniquely suited to impart a level of sensitivity–to others, to yourself, to the world around you–that you simply can’t access through other means. Creating visual art puts artists, both young and old, into a relationship with the subject that creates connections that apply to every other area of life. As you learn new techniques, hone your skills, and explore new ways of approaching these connections, you are, at the same time, moving closer to reaching your full potential–not just as an artist, but also as a human being.
